About Margaret

Known throughout Long Island for her keen eye, and her undeniable instinctive sense for action, photographer Margaret Vega has turned her passion into a successful career. She enjoys documenting the lives of talented athletes, children and their families. With her attention to details, Margaret produces images that will preserve your memories forever.

The road to becoming a professional photographer was a simple one — she began documenting the everyday lives of her children. Her greatest inspiration and source of joy in life is her beautiful children. When others began asking her to capture that spirit in their child or athlete, she began and her dream was realized.

With an obvious talent and plan to keep it simple, she prefers to use available light, both indoors and out, for all of her photographs. She wants to capture who you "are" not just what you "look" like. She strives to create memories with spirit and heart.

Margaret predominantly works on location with natural light. She specializes in sports photography for kids, as well as children's portraiture. She believes natural light is the most flattering light. Once you've taken a look through Margaret's galleries, you will see exactly why she is one of the most sought after children's sports photographers on Long Island. Margaret resides in the suburbs of Long Island with her husband and their three very busy children. She works on location throughout the Long Island and the New York Metro area.

My mission is to document life as it happens and to help you collect those moments in your child's, your families, or your athlete's life along their journey. I do not want to take the best portrait where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling, instead it is the one that shows their true spirit.

My Personal Goal

In twenty years from now when the games are over or the kids are grown what do you want to remember? I will help you capture those split seconds that we all take for granted as they are happening but want to remember forever. I want to write a storybook through photography, on a day in the life of your child or a game in the life of your athlete. I want images that capture those moments that will last a lifetime.
